Licensing Constellation Framework

There are two types of licenses for the Constellation Framework library, single-domain and unlimited.

Single-domain license

The single-domain license allows you to create visualizations for use under a single domain name and any subdomains. Go with this option if you're only planning to use the visualization on a single website or web application.

Unlimited license

Visualizations created using the unlimited license can be used in any website or locally-run software application.

Some more points to note:

• Neither license will ever expire, so you can continue to use visualizations built with Constellation Framework without having to renew.
• There are no restrictions preventing you from charging users a subscription to access the visualizations in your web application.
• The license does not include source code for the library but you do get all the code for Flex and Flash sample applications.
• Upgrades to minor versions are included for free!

The Software Package

When you purchase a license for Constellation Framework, you'll receive a zip archive with the following files:

constellation_framework.fla

A Flash file containing the Constellation Framework compiled library for use in Flash.

constellation_framework.swc

A Flash component SWC file containing the Constellation Framework compiled library for use in Flex.

Constellation Roamer Source.zip

A ZIP archive containing the Flash source code for Constellation Roamer. This includes the FLA, all necessary Actionscript 3.0 class files, and sample configuration and data files.

Flash Sample Application.zip

A zip archive containing a Flash source FLA, a sample graph data XML file, and source files for the Flash sample application.

Flex Sample Application.zip

A Flex project archive containing the Flex sample application. Includes sample data and source files for the sample application.

API documentation is available online and more and more tutorials and sample applications with source code will be posted. We want to make it as easy as possible to get your custom visualization off the ground.
